A rather emotional week
The last week seems to have gone by very quickly and not without reason, it all went a bit awry on Sunday night.
Monday:
I woke up getting my son ready for pre-school and noticed from the kitchen window that the back gate was wide open, strange in itself since we always close it so the dog doesn't escape (he's small enough to fit through the cat flaps). I went through to the back room which is separately locked from the kitchen and the rest of the house to find a window completely off its hinges. Sure enough the garage was open too. Some little scrote had broke into the garage and then used the tools to break into the house. A few key items were taken - my toolbox with all my hdd's, memory and computer tools, my wife's bike, a lot of booze and my drill.
As you can imagine this was incredibly frustrating and I don't think I've ever felt quite so angry. The result however was a happy one.
The rest of the day was spent pretty much pent up, after the Police had gone I went to work and lost myself in the neccesary, it was great, until I came home again and saw an officer fingerprinting everything and then once again rage.
Tuesday:
We decided that we needed a bigger dog, since our existing Lhasa-Apso (I think that's right!) decided to sleep through we thought it was time to get something with extra... bite. Enter Storm.
Wednesday:
Bristol to (nearly) Oxford is a long trip up and down hills, but boy was it worth it. We met Storm and fell in love. She's a beautiful 6 week old German Sheppard puppy. We didn't get her till Saturday though and so the rest of the week went quietly.
Saturday:
Finally, Storm! Gorgeous isn't she?
Sunday:
Sunday is never a day of rest. Having woke up late from a wonderful meal with family the night before at The Globe we finished fitting the alarm system and took some bits to the local tip. After that we moved from there to Southmead to drop off a trumpet (don't ask...) and on the way saw someone jump off a flyover. No I'm not kidding you. I was very worried at first and the wife turned straight around while I called an ambulance. A woman dressed in a tan mac, with white stiletto's and a white dress had jumped off a 3 storey overpass... into a tree to climb down and try and take a short cut in a drunken haze, perhaps. Or perhaps she was seriously ill and needed help - either way the Ambulance were there and helped her out to whatever the poor woman needed.
Films watched in 2012, part I
Killing Fields of Texas - Good acting and suspense from a great cast
Red State - Boring, what started as what might be fun, turned into Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid with religious preachers and Dan from Rosanne.
Silence of the Lambs - Never got round to this classic, but there it is, loved it.
Hannibal - The sequel, loved it as well.
Think Local – Bristol, Summer 2009
Since this photo TESCO have moved a small store into the bottom of Gloucester Road and residents have destroyed it multiple times, however it yet remains.
Do Something
This post isn't meant to be rude or annoy anyone but I'm sure it will.
So many people are bored, why?
Do something.
Read, Write, Listen, Watch, Research, Create, Taste, Think.
- Read a book, read a blog, read a paper, read a magazine article, then write them or about them.
- Listen to inspiring music, or alternatively something by Justin Bieber.
- Watch your favourite series, a documentary on the flight of birds or a movie that never gets old.
- Research your favourite person (don't stalk them you weirdo), place or even any of the above.
- Create anything you want, because you can.
- Taste fantastic food and drink or an even more fantastic person.
- Think on all that we are, all that you are and all that you might be.
But don't just say you're bored, that's just pathetic - you deserve to be bored if you are.
New Years Resolutions… or not
Around this time everyone is giving up the fags or the chocolate, or taking up the gym or getting organised.
And I say to you, don't bother unless you're sure.
Make your decisions worth something.
Forget the usual Lose Weight, Get out of Debt, Get organised, Quit smoking, Eat better.
Think on these: Join a diet plan group, Repay 1 card or ignore the sales, Sort out recycling every night, Cut smoking down to what I can manage or make appointments to check out my options, eat take-away a lot less.
From here, build on these resolutions - for me?
Write and read more and to this end continue my self imposed ban on video games... bugger.
Fresh
Ah yes, New Year, New Blog. Or so the saying goes, doesn't it?
2011 was pretty down and up for me. I lost a job, I got a job that was temporary and turned me onto new things I never knew I was any good at - sales.
This then ended up in to a promotion of sorts and I am loving my new job.
That's all you'll actually hear about my job because everyone else finds it boring, except me of course!
No no dear readers, this will be a wonderland into everything else boring in my life, like bad writing, recent affairs, science, books, etc.
Oh and nerdy things. Everyone enjoys nerdy things otherwise fucking Spider Man wouldn't be being re-made for the umpteenth time again.
Eugh.
